Everything Commercial

Last week was a great learning experience for me at TigerTraks. Two very closely linked things happened.

First, a dear ex-colleague, Amit Rajput started sharing and uploading excel tips. I have known his prowess in MS Excel for a long time and we have gained from his knowledge for long. Last week he started sharing his knowledge with everyone here by starting a new group for this purpose. He is keeping things simple by giving us just a couple of things to learn at a time, and I think this group is going to be a long term success.

Second, I met a very old friend last Saturday. We have known each other for over 12 years and I have learnt to respect his work a lot. He shared an anguish about how some sales professionals still faced difficulties in commercial matters as they never had the right mentor to help them learn the ropes. Many of these are crack sales professionals and meet their sales targets very often. But they lack knowledge of commercial issues. You will find such people in every organisation. And they are easy to spot. They will have a long list of outstanding debts, dealer issues, Un-collected C forms and more. These people are not incapable. They just need more training, that’s all.

The above two experiences last week gave us the next direction for TigerTraks – To create a learning and knowledge resource here at TigerTraks. And to this end, we are starting a group called “Everything Commercial”. This group will purely focus on a lot of commercial knowledge, sharing templates, case studies and more. It will be an open group, and will work purely on participation and collaboration. This means, users are strongly urged to contribute to the overall learning process, as this group will largely depend on contributed content. A new dream – can we become the Wikipedia of Sales?

Isha Oswal also started sharing some thoughts on CV writing, and she will continue the same in this week. I got a preview of some of the things she plans to do this week, and I must say they were exciting.
